My husband and I have been working on moving from Greenville, SC —Yeah THAT Greenville—to the Chesapeake/Virginia Beach area for the past year. Greenville is where we grew up as adults, met each other, started careers we love, got married, created a family and met incredible people who have touched our hearts and lives forever. Chesapeake/Virginia Beach is where I grew up, where my family and additional incredible people are, the beach and a supportive network of family to help and share in raising our kids. With the help of family, friends and a great realtor Tara Healy McNeil, we sold our house, said our goodbyes and moved on Father's day in mid-June.
As luck would have it, the day after we arrived in Chesapeake my husband found out he won tickets to take our daughter to see her favorite musician, Sir Paul McCartney in Columbia, SC on June 25th. So back on the road they went two days later. I especially loved his timely tribute to Charleston.
While we work on getting jobs and a house, we're spending the summer traveling in an RV.
Our first trip was to First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach to check out the area where we want to live.
Next we traveled to Raleigh/Cary, NC to visit friends, family and check out the city.
After Raleigh, we travelled down to Bennettsville, SC to visit more friends and family and celebrate Independence Day with fireworks in SC.
Then last week we came back up to Chesapeake, VA for interviews, freelance work, finishing this website, etc.
Looking forward to seeing what the future holds. Stay tuned…
